„I attended my first Vegan Camp Out UK in 2023 and saw Viva! founder Juliet Gellatley present a few different talks, all incredibly moving and powerful. This is what motivated me to become more actively involved, so I headed to Viva!’s website to see what I could participate in. Initially I was looking for local opportunities however I came across Viva! Poland reaching out for volunteers and thought why not? I am passionate about helping animals in need and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to do so.

I had such an incredible experience whilst volunteering in Poland. Whilst I am a lover of all animals, I was primarily helping out with the dogs as this is the animal I have most experience with. Some of my responsibilities included ensuring all dogs had water, cleaned and winter-proofed their kennels, walks and of course, lots of cuddles. During my stay I felt very welcome, staff were happy to provide help when needed and I felt comfortable with all tasks given.In the UK I work full time in an office so spending time helping animals, in the fresh air away from everyday hustle and bustle has been amazing. As well as helping animals in need it has also acted as a detox for myself as I was able to reconnect with animals, nature and myself whilst being there.
